Parents, students and members of the community are invited to attend and participate in a School Safety Fair that is being sponsored by the Clark County School District Police Department.
The event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Clark High School, 4291 W. Pennwood Ave. Activities will include a bike/pedestrian rodeo, fire truck tours and a seat belt convincer display.
There also will be information booths for burn safety, water safety, home safety and seat belt safety as well as free drawings for bikes, bike helmets, iPods and tickets to local attractions.
Participants will also have the opportunity to meet and visit with television personality and BMX Pro Rider Richard Laguna, who is a graduate of Eldorado High School in Las Vegas.
“One of the goals of this event is to help increase safety awareness among our students and parents,” said Officer Robert Mayer. “By participating in this event, we hope to create dialog between parents and their children that will help keep them safe, especially when they are en route to and from school.”
