Nevada’s Joining Forces law enforcement team has announced that they will be cracking down on distracted drivers between now and April 20.
According to Nevada law, drivers are not allowed to use any handheld device — cellphones, MP3 players, GPS devices and etc. — while driving.
The ban went into effect Jan. 1, 2012, in responsode to more than 3,500 distraction-related crashes every year in the state of Nevada.
Research has found that using a cellphone behind the wheel makes a driver four times more likely to get into a serious crash.
