As Superbowl weekend approaches, Henderson police are warning they will be out in full force, looking for drunk drivers. Families and friends all around Clark County will be gathering to celebrate and watch the game. Hopefully those who choose to drink will use a taxi or a dd. If you are cited, call Ticket Busters, we can help you with your DUI.
Police say whether you go to a bar for the game or a party, you need to line up a ride home with a sober driver.
Henderson traffic officers will be performing saturation patrols with neighboring jurisdictions this weekend.
Police said if you’re hosting a Super Bowl party, you might select a time to stop serving alcohol, such as the end of the third quarter, when the NFL halts beer sales. Also, you need to make sure everyone who is drinking at your party is at least 21.
If you furnish alcohol to someone under 21, you could face jail time.
You should also serve plenty of food and non-alcoholic beverages at your party. Remember, you can be held liable and prosecuted if someone you served ends up in a drunk-driving crash.
Last year, there were three fatal DUI-related accidents in Nevada on Super Bowl weekend, two of which happened in Clark County.
