A weekend sobriety checkpoint is expected to focus on drug and alcohol-impaired drivers in the southwest end of Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Metro police said officers will join members of Nevada Highway Patrol, Nye County Sheriff’s Office and Henderson police for the Friday night checkpoint.
According to Metro, Drug Recognition Expert officers will be evaluating impaired drivers for drugs and alcohol.
Metro noted about 61 impaired drivers were checked during sobriety driving events so far this year.
The checkpoint is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
