A Henderson police officer was arrested last week for allegedly drunk driving. Sgt. Lisa Mattingly was arrested Friday around 10 p.m. Henderson Police confirmed to Action News she was involved in a minor crash at Horizon Ridge Parkway and Gibson Road, where her car bumped the back of another vehicle at the intersection.

Las Vegas police have been cracking down on drunk drivers, especially with how many car related fatalities happened last year in Clark County, Nevada. The Nevada Department of Public Safety and Transportation reports 258 fatalities on Nevada roadways last year. That’s 12 more than the year before, but still 40% lower than the 432 deaths in 2006.
Residents of Las Vegas have been asking for a crack down on driving violations, in an attempt to hopefully bring the number of fatalities down this year. Seeing a police officer arrested for DUI shows it can happen to anyone at anytime. If you are arrested for DUI, make sure your rights are protected, hire an experienced Las Vegas DUI attorney.
