You read that right. It’s time to repave the Strip, and it’s going to take 5 years…yes, years. Well the plan will repave Las Vegas Blvd, from Sahara Avenue on the north to I-215 on the south, so it’s 6 miles of busy road to repave. Most of the work will take place during nighttime hours between 2AM and 10 AM. And there will be other improvements made such as water main replacements, upgrades to traffic signals, median improvements and LED lights. So, it is a major undertaking. Lane closures and shifting of lanes will become part of the fabric of traveling the strip for a while to come.
Spring Mountain through Sahara will be phase 1 of 7 phases all of which will be completed by 2024 or so. Phase 1 will complete by 2021. More information about the project, including signing up for email or text updates is available at www.resortsCorridor.com. And just when you thought it was safe to go outside again after Project Neon, the Strip Repaving Project is starting up and the Tropicana Interchange project will be getting up to full steam shortly. It’s all part of the price we pay to live in a dynamic growing city like Las Vegas.
And well, it’s already started…No? let’s see, there was a June date, then a couple of weeks heading up to Thanksgiving, and then there was December 2. However, the weather had other plans. It’s now scheduled to begin today, December 16. Between Spring Mountain and Sahara Avenue expect to have one or two lanes each direction open between 12:30AM and 11AM. There will be no construction for December 24-26, and December 31 through January 3 due to the holidays. During non-construction hours, expect at least one lane closed in each direction, although there may be times when no lane closures will be in place. Drivers keep your eyes open for lane shifts anytime during this project.
Keep your eyes on your speed but if you slip up and get a ticket, call Ticket Busters
Ticket Busters has been helping those who get tickets in Las Vegas and surrounding Clark County for over 10 years. We can probably help you too. We will represent you with the court and save you the time of dealing with waiting for your case to be called, waiting in lines to pay fines, but we do more. We will negotiate with the appropriate court to reduce your charges. In most cases we can get the charges reduced to a non-moving violation or the equivalent of a parking ticket. This saves you points on your DMV driving record and keeps your insurance rates from going up. We can also help with DUI’s and open warrants.
